sonoma creek Enhanciment project, California, USA
The enhancement project objective is to restore a tidal marsh on the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge along Sonoma Creek in northern San Francisco Bay. The project is a partnership between Audubon California, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Marin Sonoma Mosquito Control District. The revitalization will not only create more habitat for various marsh species, but also prepare the marsh for future sea level rise. Photos taken on assignment for Audubon Magazine, Winter 2021.
